Étale

Soit $f$ une application définie sur un ouvert $U$ de $\mathbb R^n$ à valeurs dans $\mathbb R^n$, et $a$ un point de $U.$ On dit que $f$ est étale en $a$ si $f$ est différentiable en $a$ et si sa différentielle $df_a$ est un isomorphisme. Le théorème d'inversion locale dit que, si $f$ est de classe $C^1$, au voisinage d'un point où elle est étale, c'est un $C^1$-difféomorphisme.
