Série statistique

Une série statistique est un ensemble de données $(x_i)$ recueillies en vue d'une étude statistique. Les données sont individuelles et ne sont pas (encore) regroupées par classe. On parle de série statistique à une variable lorsqu'on étudie un seul caractère, de série statistique à deux variables quand on étudie simultanément deux caractères, etc... Lorsque la série statistique est obtenue en observant un individu au cours du temps, on parle alors de série chronologique.
