Corps de décomposition

Soit $P$ un polynôme non constant sur le corps $\mathbb K$. On appelle corps de décomposition de $P$ sur $\mathbb K$ une extension $\mathbb L$ de $\mathbb K$ telle que :

  1. dans $\mathbb L[X]$, $P$ est produit de facteurs de degré 1.
  2. le corps $\mathbb L$ est minimal pour cette propriété (c'est-à-dire que les racines de $P$ engendrent $\mathbb L$).
Théorème : Soit $P$ un polynôme non constant sur le corps $\mathbb K$. Alors $P$ admet un corps de décomposition sur $\mathbb K,$ unique à $\mathbb K$-isomorphisme près.

Par exemple, $\mathbb C$ est "le" corps de décomposition du polynôme $X^2+1\in\mathbb R[X]$.
